Looking for a fun way to meet your neighbors and make new friends?

You’ve come to right place! At Brooklyn Brunch Club, we welcome a small group of diners to our communal table, over a leisurely multi-course meal, with interesting icebreakers to get the conversation flowing!

Unlike a high-end supper club, our brunch events are casual and approachable, and open to anyone searching for a sense of community. We try to keep our prices as affordable as possible, ensuring more people can have a seat at our table.

We’re currently hosting events at St. Lydia’s, located at 304 Bond St in Gowanus. All seats must be booked in advance and our menu changes for each event. Occasionally we offer classes, feature musicians, and welcome guest chefs. Join our mailing to find out what’s next!

Meet Your Hosts

Donny Carvajal grew up between Venezuela and Colombia, enjoying traditional, homemade meals cooked by his mom, grandmother, aunts and uncles. Becky Horvath used to burn things as simple as toast during her childhood in New Jersey, but after film school she landed a job working on Martha Stewart’s TV show - and quickly learned how to cook from the domestic diva herself. Donny first expanded his palette by relocating to Trinidad and then by traveling the world selling high-end jewelry on luxury cruise ships. Meanwhile, Becky was also circumventing the globe, producing food television with some of the world’s best chefs. Along the way, both were inspired by the unique ingredients and flavors of various cultures - but more than that, Donny and Becky witnessed firsthand how the simple act of breaking bread with people can break down barriers and form lasting connections.

Donny later moved to the USA to further his career in fine jewelry with the world’s most prestigious maisons, while also assisting his siblings with the family business, Pabade Bakery, located in East Harlem. Becky continued her culinary education through courses at NYU, the Institute of Culinary Education and the Culinary Institute of America, while continuing her career in media. She’s currently the Executive Director of Video at Food52. Becky launched Brooklyn Brunch in 2018 as a way to share all that she had learned with her community.

A mutual love of salsa dancing - and really great food - brought Donny and Becky together in 2021. The pair hope to continue spreading joy to the community through their food, by hosting events and teaching classes. Their dream is to someday open a brick and mortar location.
