HOW DID BRUNCH CLUB GET STARTED?

With some free time on my hands after The Chew was cancelled, I started holding brunches in my garden in the summer of 2018. The goal was to introduce different groups of friends, disconnect from technology, and bring back the art of conversation. When I returned to work, I kept the brunches going monthly and watched our community grow exponentially. We’ve now welcomed over 150 new and returning brunchers. With the addition of our monthly featured guests, we’re able to offer a unique and exciting experience to get the conversation started each month! 


WHERE IS BRUNCH CLUB?

At The Great Room - a “community living room” - in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn. Brunch started in my backyard, and we’ve also hosted at Court Tree Collective, a neighborhood art gallery.


WHEN IS BRUNCH CLUB?

2 PM on the first Sunday of each month.


WHAT’S ON THE MENU? 

Our menu changes month-to-month. By serving a small number of guests in an intimate setting, I can use ingredients that I’m proud of, with a focus on seasonality. I cook with local, sustainably produced dairy and produce when available. This neighborhood is home to specialty butchers, bakeries, fish & cheese mongers, and I support these small businesses whenever possible.


IS THERE BOOZE?

Our brunches are BYOB unless noted on the event page. We always feature a drink to complement the menu, usually iced tea or coffee and occasionally a cocktail!


WHO GOES TO BRUNCH CLUB? 

Though many guests live in Brooklyn, we’ve had diners from all over NYC, as well as NJ, PA, CT, and MA.  Attendees have ranged from their late 20s to their early 80s. (All events are 21+) Some come with friends or partners, but others come solo and enjoy making new friends at brunch! Depending on our location, we currently welcome 14 - 20 guests each month.


WHO IS PROVIDING THE CHILD CARE AT THE GREAT ROOM?

CozyKin is the leading childcare service providing families with in-home Montessori-inspired care, primarily for ages 0-3. All CozyKin nannies are W-2 employees who are fully vetted and trained by their care management team in the CozyKin Academy. CozyKin handles payroll, taxes and benefits so that parents can enjoy the personal benefits of having a nanny without having to manage the professional side.

CAN I BE A FEATURED GUEST? 

If you’re local to NYC and have something you’d like to share with your community, we’d love to hear from you! In the past, we’ve welcomed guest chefs, artists, musicians, dance teachers, and are currently looking for baristas and tea experts. But the possibilities are endless! WHAT’S YOUR REFUND POLICY?

All events are non-refundable. If an event needs to be cancelled because of inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances, you’ll be notified 24-hours in advance and a full refund will be issued.


DO YOU HAVE A REFERRAL PROGRAM OR DISCOUNTS FOR RETURNING BRUNCH CLUBBERS?
