Son de Yuma, Cuban Son Trio

Son de Yuma is the latest project from Cuban-American percussionist, Salsa instructor, and educator, Javier Ramos. While studying dance and music in Cuba, Javier was amazed by the Cuban Son bands that play the restaurants and bars in Havana Vieja and their ability to produce such a rich sound with such few personnel. He wanted to recreate that intimate and exciting experience here in NYC, paying homage to the classic Cuban music he grew up with while incorporating the rich pan-LatinX landscape that is the USA and NYC in particular. He named the project Son de Yuma, which is the Cuban slang term for the USA, to signal this fusion of styles. Javier is joined by two NYC greats, Ray Ceta on bass and Tom Wilson on piano. They definitely brought the party this February!
