OUR STORY

Brooklyn Brunch Club began in 2018…

as a casual, approachable way to bring new people together over a rotating menu of global cuisines. What started as a small backyard gathering gradually grew and expanded to a local art gallery and then community center, welcoming over 200 guests in the first year and a half, along with guest chefs, artists, and musicians. Menus transported us to places like the Philippines, an a cappella group enchanted us with traditional Serbian music, and we even learned to dance Cuban salsa!

Like many businesses, Brooklyn Brunch Club was forced to put events on hold in March 2020 and the community center shuttered shortly thereafter. The Virtual Guest Chef series was launched to financially support chefs and organizations affected by the pandemic and give the brunch club community a chance to connect virtually. People from around the country joined the cooking classes via zoom, using a list of pre-provided ingredients to prepare dishes from Venezuela, Africa, Greece, Jamaica, and more, raising thousands for those affected in the hospitality industry.

Today, Brooklyn Brunch Club has returned to hosting in-person events, currently at St. Lydia’s in Gowanus, while continuing to grow the community by offering private catering and classes.
